Renewing Your Mind

 renew mind

At the time of salvation, our spirit is regenerated. We go from death to life – separated from God to being reconciled to Him. The change that takes place is miraculous and immediate. The transformation of our minds, on the other hand, is a process. The Bible instructs us to make changes in the way we think by renewing your mind. We renew our minds and grow in our faith and maturity by spending time in the Word of God – reading, meditating, applying and practicing what we learn every day. The more we learn about God – who He is and who we are in Him, the more we will renew our thinking. We begin to see things the way He sees them. We begin to want what He wants. Renewing our minds changes us and makes us more like Christ.

How to Renew Your Mind

And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. (Romans 12:2) Don’t lie to each other, for you have stripped off your old sinful nature and all its wicked deeds. Put on your new nature, and be renewed as you learn to know your Creator and become like him. (Colossians 3:9-10) Throw off your old sinful nature and your former way of life, which is corrupted by lust and deception. Instead, let the Spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes. Put on your new nature, created to be like God—truly righteous and holy. (Ephesians 4:22-24) This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. (Joshua 1:8)
