Kingdom, Power, Glory - Lord's Prayer Matt 6:13

Tracey Krause

kingdom come, lords prayer

For thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory, forever. Amen. Some versions of Matthew 6:13

Kingdom Power

praise god, lords prayerSo our model prayer from Jesus ends, as it began, with praise and worship - acknowledging who God is, his power to answer prayer, that we are praying within his Kingdom, for Kingdom purposes and that our answered prayers would bring him glory. The other day, after grace, our little girl was asking why we say 'amen' at the end of our prayers and what does it mean. I was pleased to have an answer - that it means 'it shall be done' and that it is a statement of our faith in God to answer our prayers. I am reminded of Martin Luther's advice - to add a great big AMEN to our prayers.

Our Father in Heaven, hallowed be your name

Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven

Give us today our daily bread, forgive us our debts as we also have forgiven our debtors

Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from the evil one

Your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in Heaven
